Run this town [Jay-Z + Rihanna + Kayne west]
Category: Adult Alternative, Alternative Rock,  Alternative Hip-hop

Only thing i like about this one is the beat, and the following of rihanna's lines:

' Life’s a game, but its not fair,
I break the rules, so I don’t care,
So i keep doing my own thing,
 walking tall against the rain'

Not that impressive in the first watch. But, then i watched it a second time. And i think, then, the music grows on you. still don't like the video, and the song. But, i like the music.

Beautiful Ending [Barlow Girl]
            Category: Pop, Adult Alternative

This is a beautiful song. The piano is played delightfully.
The video is made in a fairytale narrative fashion. Worth a watch.

Fine [Jaymes Reunion]
              Category: R & B

Don't like the video. But, the song is nice.. :)

Just Ain't gonna work out [Meyer Hawthorne]

              Category: Pop, R & B

The video is a nice idea . The guy carries along a big plastic heart that tells its own story each time it passes hands. Just like a picture can speak a thousand words, the imagery in the video speaks for itself. Nicely done!

Saviour [Lights]
            Category: R & B

Beautiful! Love it!! :D

Rating: 4/5

Feel your love [Kim Sozzi]

Good beats. It's a different kind of video; full of shades of blue, maybe suggesting she is feeling the blues due to the distance between her and her love.

The Stupids [1996]

Director: John Landis

Just watched this movie again. I remember watching this movie years back when i was a kid. My sister and I found it really funny then.

It is a very silly and stupid movie, actually, about a very stupid family. The 'stupid' family is so dumb that in real life, people would be left wondering why they haven't yet ended up in a mental institution. I wouldn't say the movie is really good or something to that effect. But, then, it's 'not bad'.
There are scenes which i think are quite nice- like the time when they
think they are dead, and take the garbage cleaner in a planetarium to be God, or when Stanley Stupid thinks of a Bee in his car as 'Drive B'.

It is actually mindless fun. The way it celebrates stupidity is kinda hilarious.
Don't expect too much or take it seriously. Just enjoy making fun of it and you'll do fine. :)

Heroes- upto volume four

It's a television series created by Tim Kring, that tells us stories about various ordinary individuals, from around the world, who are not-so-ordinary.

Due to some structural difference in their genetic profile, these individuals develop superhuman abilities- like cellular regeneration, travelling through time and space, talking to
machines, flying, etc..
The Series is about how the lead characters, sometimes crossing each other on their paths , strive to 'save the world', and strive to make it a better place.

Season 1: (Volume one) Genesis
Season 2: (Volume two) Generations
Season 3: (Volume three) Villains,
(Volume four) Fugitives

The first season was really addictive. It would take an effort to stop myself from continuing with the next episode, after i finished with one. It was intriguing to see how the various characters went about trying to understand what changes they were going through, as their powers manifested, and how they strived to understand themselves better.

The second season was as good, with loads of new characters introduced into the storyline. I became a great fan of this tv show.

The third season disappointed a little in the beginning. There were some flaws in the plot that would jump out, so obvious that one could not ignore them. The story wasn't that captivating too. But, as the story progressed, the plot picked up and became more interesting.
Volume four was even better than the third one. And by the time I reached the end of the season, it had won me back.. :)

Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia) and Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) are really cute. My favourite characters! :D

And I love those dialogues in Sendhil Ramamurthy's voice at the end (& sometimes at the beginning) of each episode. They have a philosophical touch. And they are beautifully written. Hats off to the writer(s).

Some of Mohinder's voice-overs:

The dialogue in Sendhil's voice at the end of Episode 24, season 3:

" For every being cursed with self-awareness, there remains the unanswerable question: Who am i? We struggle to find meaningful connections to one another. We are the caring friend, the loving father, the doting mother, the protected child. We fight, and we love, in the hope that somehow, together, we can understand our significance in the universe. But, in the end no one can share our burden. Each of us alone must answer the question- Who am i? What does it mean to be alive? And in the vast infinity of time, how do i matter?"

Episode 25, season 3:

beginning: " There are nearly 7 billion people on this planet. Each one unique, different. What are the chances of that? and why? Is it simply biology, physiology that determines this diversity? A collection of thoughts, memories, experiences that carve out our own special place. Or is it something more than this? Perhaps, there is a masterplan that drives this randomness of creation. Something unknowable dwells in the soul, and presents each one of us with a unique set of challenges that will help us discover who we really are. "

Run-time of each episode: approx. 40 mins

F.R.I.E.N.D.S

Who hasn't heard of 'F.R.I.E.N.D.S' ?
A comedy show revolving around the lives of six friends in Manhattan.
Being one of the most popular tv shows, it has been seen by almost everyone at some point of time in their lives- even if they have seen just a few episodes, and not the complete 10 seasons. It's just too good. The characters are lovable, and the storyline well-written. Need one say more about this one.. ;)

My rating: 5/5

P.S.: I'd like to share 2 of my favourite parts of the show with all fellow F.R.I.E.N.D.S fans...
1) where ross plays his 'THE Sound'... lol. that's so funny!
2) where phoebe tries to teach joey how to speak french :P

Just Like Heaven [2005]

Director: Mark Waters

This one is a romantic comedy.
Elizabeth (Reese Witherspoon) is a workaholic doctor. Due to a tragic accident, Elizabeth's spirit gets caught up between heaven and earth. David (Mark Ruffalo), a lonely landscape architect, moves into the apartment where Elizabeth used to live and finds the place haunted by her spirit. As Elizabeth doesn't remember anything about her past life, David agrees to help her find out who she is. Eventually, they fall in love. But, there's still the problem of Elizabeth not really being alive..
One or two times, the story tends to be a bit overdramatic. But overall, it makes for a good watch. A good way to spend a rainy day.

Step Up [2006]

Saw this one last night..

This movie is a nice and sweet mixture of dance and romance. I'd already seen Step up 2 before i watched this one, and i feel the sequel has more energy. But, the story is good, and the dance routines well-choreographed. So, I'd say this movie is worth a watch . Tyler (Channing Tatum) is a trouble-maker and a streetdancer. When he lands up in trouble with the law for breaking up the theatre stage of the Maryland School of Arts, he is sent to do community-service for the school. Nora (Jenna Dewan) is a ballet dancer studying at MSA and is in her final year. Her future career completely depends on the showcase due in a few weeks. But, as luck would have it, her partner in the showcase dance gets an ankle sprain. After many unsuccessful attempts in finding herself a dance partner, she agrees to let Tyler help her by dancing with her. As time passes, Tyler also starts to realise that the dance could be his only opportunity to a brighter future.
Overall a good entertainment movie.

The Lord of the Rings

Let my first post be in the honour of my all-time favourite movie.

Le seigneur des Anneaux.. :)

I loved this trilogy! The first time i watched this movie, I was awestruck, and marvelled the craftsmanship of the special effects crew. And being someone who really admires movies with great special effects, i found this one to be a visual delight.
But, I had not yet read the book, and realised the full beauty of this masterpiece only after I had read the book.
Peter Jackson's depiction of Tolkien's world is a wonderful piece of imagination. Since then, i have watched the movie quite a lot of times, and i really love it. According to me, it is the one and only movie that has actually lived upto the standards of the book it is based on. Although i had a bit of a difficulty matching my image of Arwen and Eowyn with the ones on-screen, i loved the star-cast. Viggo Mortenson is very convincing as Aragon, and Orlando Bloom is sweet.
And the music is awesome! i really love the soundtracks 'Into the west', 'May it be', and 'Breaking of the Fellowship-There and back again'. And when i got to know A.R. Rahman had been a part of this orchestra, it was an ecstatic moment for me. I love his music.. :)
