The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn [2011]

Director: Steven Spielberg

Writers:   HergĂ© (comic book series "The Adventures of Tintin")
Steven Moffat, Edgar Wright, & Joe Cornish (screenplay)

Featuring: Daniel Craig, Jamie Bell, Simon Pegg, Andy Serkis, Nick Frost

Our favourite comic book character Tintin now has a movie of his own, based on his adventures.
I watched Tintin (3D) in the theatre today. I know, I know. It's a bit late to watch the movie now (The movie got released on the 11th of November), but better late than never. I am glad i did manage to catch it before they took it off the screens.

The movie was totally amazing. The effects were magnificently rendered. The story was an exciting and gripping adventure where Tintin, Haddock, and Snowy are on a treasure hunt. All the characters, including Thompson and Thomson, were endearing.
There was not one second where you could say the movie was dull or boring. It is so well-done that I can actually guarantee you will love the movie (whether you are a Tintin fan or you just got introduced to him through this movie). I had taken along my cousin who normally steers clear of animation/special effects movies, and even she loved it!

For a combination of Steven Speilberg as Director, and Speilberg & Peter Jackson as Producers- what else could you expect but a masterpiece.

A movie eagerly awaited... The Hobbit

Peter Jackson did justice to The Lord of the Rings book. So, I am sure he'll do this one good too. You could say 'The Hobbit' is Book 0 of 'The Lord of the Rings' series.
The Hobbit is a story mainly of Bilbo Baggins' adventures, and took place before 'The Lord of the Rings' happened. I love the book and totally look forward to watching this movie because the way Peter Jackson depicts the Middle-earth is beautiful. Also, we'll get to see Gandalf, the great wizard, again.. :)

The Lord of the Rings

Let my first post be in the honour of my all-time favourite movie.

Le seigneur des Anneaux.. :)

I loved this trilogy! The first time i watched this movie, I was awestruck, and marvelled the craftsmanship of the special effects crew. And being someone who really admires movies with great special effects, i found this one to be a visual delight.
But, I had not yet read the book, and realised the full beauty of this masterpiece only after I had read the book.
Peter Jackson's depiction of Tolkien's world is a wonderful piece of imagination. Since then, i have watched the movie quite a lot of times, and i really love it. According to me, it is the one and only movie that has actually lived upto the standards of the book it is based on. Although i had a bit of a difficulty matching my image of Arwen and Eowyn with the ones on-screen, i loved the star-cast. Viggo Mortenson is very convincing as Aragon, and Orlando Bloom is sweet.
And the music is awesome! i really love the soundtracks 'Into the west', 'May it be', and 'Breaking of the Fellowship-There and back again'. And when i got to know A.R. Rahman had been a part of this orchestra, it was an ecstatic moment for me. I love his music.. :)

My Rating: 5/5
